SIG Radio Control Kits
(Kits 21-40)
Active kits shown in BLACK
Discontinued kits shown in RED
NOTE: Clicking on most pics will bring them up, much enlarged, in another window.
It seems that I must put this statement on each page of the website.
I have NO affiliation
with
SIG Manufacturing Co.
I do not have magical access to kits. I do not have a store that sells kits.
I do not have access to, or sell kit parts. I do not create kits.
I do have a website that shows every kit SIG has ever put out.
You are seeing it now.

Mustang 450
1971
Designed by: Hank Pohlmann
Wingspan - 49.5"
Radio - 4 channel
Engine - .40
Did you know?
In the photo of Hank Pohlmann with the two prototype Mustang-450's, above, the red one belongs to Jim Duda. Both are powered by highly
modified K&B .40's. During those days, Hank & Jim were experiencing a lot of engine failures.
At this same time, Steve Pohlmann (Hank's son) had begun his migration to cars and was crewing for his life-long friend, Dave Ray. They used
Klotz oil in their go-kart fuels and Steve discussed this with his father. Hank added the Klotz to his fuel and all the issues ended right there, the rest is history.
That is the story behind why SIG's fuel has Klotz oil in it, and why SIG fuel is red - Klotz is red.
https://sigmfg.com/products/sig-champion-fuel
Dave and his son continue their racing as well.

E-mail, received 7 October 2020 from Steve Pohlmann
We are hoping to submit Dad’s last 450, Jim’s surviving prototype, and the first kit off the production line at SIG to the museum. Their pylon display (at least what was out in the public area) is sorely lacking on any Formula One “golden era” planes. We are hoping to address that. Alas, Dad’s original plane is long gone, but Jason Duda (Jim’s son) was able to track down and reacquire his Dad’s plane. The two planes on the magazine cover (large photo, above) are the two prototypes. Dad valued Jim’s opinion on many things and had him build his plane to test theories, etc. Third pic is Jim holding Dad’s final 450 – the one now in my collection. Hopefully, both of these planes are bound for the AMA museum. You have our permission to add these photos to your website.
Steve Pohlmann Jason Duda
I would like to add that I have the original 5 photos, above - should anyone want the full-size originals.

RCU member "bbrowncods" has done a lot of work in providing full measurements of the foam wing core for the Kommander. With his
permission, I've included his entire entry, unchanged: I might add that Eureka Aircraft now carries the part, #W0790, $35.00
I just sent Eureka Aircraft the details they requested to make a set of foam cores. I attached a PDF of the fuselage plans that includes the wing
profile. Also the measurements of the cores. I'll include them here for info of anyone that needs them.
30"=Span of one panel
12.5"=Root Cord (11.0 foam + 0.25LE + 0.25TE + 1.0 aileron)
