SIG Manufacturing Co.
Other Manufacturers Kits
These planes are kits & ARFs that SIG has carried at one time or another.
As far as I know, two are in production today.
Active kits shown in BLACK
Discontinued kits shown in RED
NOTE: Clicking on most pics will bring them up, much enlarged, in another window.
It seems that I must put this statement on each page of the website.
I have NO affiliation
with
SIG Manufacturing Co.
I do not have magical access to kits. I do not have a store that sells kits.
I do not have access to, or sell kit parts. I do not create kits.
I do have a website that shows every kit SIG has ever put out.
You are seeing it now.

This is another outstanding find by the man responsible for finding the kit that finished this website, Sean Elliot of the EAA. Neither of us had any idea that SIG once carried this kit, and even supplied parts for it.
The note below is from Sean.
I have recently been collecting a few Joy RC kits, as they were the predecessor to Balsa USA which is just up the road from me in Menominee, MI. Ron Busch, the founder of BUSA, started with purchasing Joy model products in the late 60s and expanded into a few early kits that were produced under the Joy name. One of my favorites is the RC Mars, which later became the Balsa USA Excalibur and is still made today as part of their vintage line up. Turns out that for a time the original Joy RC Mars was carried by SIG! I just acquired a second original Joy RC Mars kit and look at the literature that I found inside the kit! Clearly calls out SIG as being a resource for obtaining the kit and having some SIG parts inside. The earlier Joy RC Mars kit that I have did not reference SIG as a source for the kit, so I am not sure when SIG started to carry it.
Another item of note: the RC Mars derives from the original CL Mars, designed by Bob Palmer in 1952. Details on the original CL Mars are below the RC Mars pics and downloadable plansheet.
